After beating Warren Woods - Tower and then Cros-Lex, the Lady Saints' win over the Marysville Vikings on Monday began a streak of three consecutive wins. The Vikings game, played on St. Clair's home pitch, ended in a 5-2 win for our girls, bringing our recored to 5-2-2.

Saints senior Tayler Malone used her impressive speed to score on a breakaway only a few minutes into the game, putting us up 1-0, and the home crowd was pumped. But the Vikings, who only had to make a short drive from neighboring Marysville, answered back a short time later, and their strong showing of fans seemed just as amped up as ours were.

Before the half ended, the Vikings put one more in the net while the Saints added two, with Natalie Booms getting in on the scoring action and Malone added her second of the match.

After a powerful halftime pep talk by Saints' head coach, Cliff Freeland, our girls came out of their locker room with a new sense of purpose, moving the ball better, maintaining possession longer and dominating the game on both offense and defense.

Before the game ended, Malone scored one more, earing her a hat trick for her second consecutive game, followed by one more from sophomore Allison Champion in the closing minutes of the match.

Meanwhile, our keeper, Kara Donaldson, with some help from a hard-working defense managed to hold the Vikings to a scoreless half.

Our next match is scheduled for Wednesday night against our biggest rival, Marine City, at our home field, set for a 6:00 kick off.
