The Saints Junior Varsity Boys basketball team could have been sitting in that room listening to former Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler's speech to his team back in 1983 the way they have played all year long. Friday's 61-36 victory over Warren Woods Tower was evidence the Saints play for each other. Jared Liniarski played a great game despite limited minutes due to foul trouble. Reid Packan picked up Jared by making plays on both ends of the court. Ryan Zimmer led the Saints scoring with 24 points including 4 three pointers. Max Gottler hit 2 three pointers and made nice moves inside to finish with 10 points. Joe Phillips powered his way to 6 points. Griffin Delore and Brady Gleason played with intensity and each scored 5 points. Lance Schweihofer was again solid on both ends of the floor and finished with 4 points. Austin Schweiger got the ball to his teammates and scored 3 points. Kevin Rogers and Luke Pietrykowski hustled for 2 points apiece. The Saints are 10-2 overall and 8-1 in the MAC Gold division and next play Monday against Richmond at home and Tuesday away at Fraser.
